\nI started teaching in 2004 with the Teach First programme. After 2 years I made a move into the City to be a sustainable buildings champion with Arup. I missed working with young people so I combined sustainability with schools and became ‘Mr Greeny<\/a>‘ for a while. Then the chance to be part of the founding team of a small school came up and I made the happy move back to teaching full-time. For nearly 6 years at King Solomon Academy<\/a>, I was Head of Maths and a member of SLT. I’m very proud of the work we did as a team and chuffed to bits that our leading group of pupils received senstational GCSE results<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\"Family\"
\nIn September 2014, I moved out of London to be closer to my wonderful parents, and with the move sadly had to leave KSA. I still regard KSA as my teaching home and going back to visit, as I do regularly, always fills me with pride.<\/p>\n

As hard as it was to leave my colleagues and pupils, looking back now I can say it was the right decision as my dad only survived another 14 months. That was precious time, which in some ways I wish I could put on a loop and play forever.<\/p>\n

Well it’s now been a few years since I stepped out of the classroom and one day I’ll be a full-time teacher again (I can’t wait). Right now I spend more hours per week on maths education than ever on the following:<\/p>\n
